MY VISIT TO HAWAYO TAKATA’S FIRST REIKI CLINIC

On the last day of my Christmas vacation 2017 I was blessed with the opportunity to visit the original Reiki Clinic of Hawayo Takata. I did not anticipate the overwhelming emotion I experienced standing on the porch and setting foot into the house. The sacredness of the clinic, the peace and love of the energy that resides there still, has made a deep impression upon me. I had the great fortune to sit, meditate and give self-Reiki amidst this beautiful energy. I am so grateful for the legacy of Mrs. Takata and the opportunity to continue my personal journey with Reiki. I have deep respect for Reiki and all who open their hearts to this transformative energy. I feel blessed to teach and share Reiki with many others in the years ahead.

I would like to help my daughter’s fundraising efforts by providing Reiki Treatments with all proceeds going towards Kristel’s Humanitarian Mission to Ghana this November. Kristel is a Doctor of Optometry with a compassionate heart. This is her fifth mission trip and always invests her own time and money to share her profession with our global community.

It is with sincere gratitude that I wish to thank all my students and clients of Reiki. You have given me a great gift inviting me to journey alongside you and be witness to your metamorphosis. There has been profound change in many and more subtle changes in others and each persons’ growth has been a privilege to observe. Reiki will take you as far in your personal healing as you wish to go and this we truly begin to understand the more we work with Reiki, either through receiving treatments or becoming a student of Reiki. Stress decreases, anger is released, worries diminish interestingly, while wisdom, intuition, joy, clarity of mind and love increase.

I am so very fortunate to be living my passion every day. I greatly look forward to continuing the journeys already begun and meeting and sharing Reiki with many more.

CAUSE AND EFFECT

I was inspired to write this piece while I watched video clips on YouTube. With interest, I listened to Jaggi Vasudev, also known as Sadhguru, an Indian yogi and mystic. He addressed his audience with humour, intelligence and wisdom in response to questions posed. His answers were very thought provoking and enlightening. In particular, I felt extremely challenged by his response on why he believes people should not be healers.

I share his belief that a problem experienced in the body or mind is an indication of a deeper situation within. With some consideration, I also realized I share his belief that when a person is healed by manipulating energies and removing the symptom, that the potential for this person to manifest another problem or disease later in life, is extremely likely. These instantaneous healings may not remove the cause herein, lays the difference with Reiki.

The Reiki energy strives to bring into your awareness the cause of dis-ease in the body or mind. When you are open to receiving the Reiki energy and willing to embrace the lessons provided to you, you are able to create your own environment of wellness, balance and harmony and remove the cause of the problem. This will not be achieved overnight just as we did not become unwell overnight. Often, while we go about this business of becoming aware, healings happen. Clients have reported problems such as tinnitus, planter’s fasciitis, insomnia, muscle aches, migraines being healed while continuing their Reiki journey.

Reiki goes to where we need it most rather than where we think it should go. It’s personal and unique to everyone. As I continue to work with the Reiki energy on myself and with clients, I am respectful and inspired by the universal forces that we are living with every day. Sadhguru challenged me to reaffirm my beliefs and knowledge of Reiki. It was most welcome.

LIFE LESSONS

The past four weeks have become a milestone in life lessons. The time is easily marked as I have just returned from a month in England. The days were a smorgasbord of events, each one full of emotion. Whether the emotion was pure joy of a newly discovered location, mouth-watering afternoon tea or reconnecting with family or the heartache of losing a beloved pet while miles away from home, in each circumstance there was a profound life lesson.

I became acutely aware as the lessons unfolded and the opportunity for my personal growth within each lesson become apparent. Before leaving for England on May 8, I heard the words on a television show; “Life happens for you, not to you.” It’s a simple sentence which succinctly tells us that our intelligent universe will provide the scenario personalized for us to evolve and grow and the timing is precise and perfect.

The clarity in which I saw these lessons is entirely due to having Reiki in my life. Reiki opens the mind and over time enhances all of our senses. Our sixth sense, third eye, intuition is strengthened and amplified to a point in which you just know and understand people, circumstances and ourselves. Within my clarity I also know that there is much more to learn and it is available to everyone willing to trust in the Reiki energy and in its’ wisdom. I am truly excited at the prospect of it all.

A New Year

As a new year unfolds, hope abounds. There are endless possibilities for the days ahead and you are the creator, the key to your future. Accept accountability for everything in your life and realize your power to change that which you do not like. Being aware of your actions, thoughts and words that you put out into the world is essential. This is a reflection for your experiences every day. Decide upon and visualize your best self, your best life and the process of its creation is in motion. Reiki helps define and support your desired reality. Create an amazing year for yourself.

The Gift of December

December is a special month for many, rich in tradition and celebration. Often our thoughts of December gifts come wrapped with beautiful paper decorated with ribbon. Consider the idea that there are other gifts more valuable than anything purchased. Creating a memory, a good deed, the gift of self, given in time being with someone, all ideas that embody the gift of love. There are endless ideas where gifts truly come from the heart. When a gift is given from your heart you spontaneously receive in return, the gift of love. Unknowingly, you give to yourself.
